Trip report from Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt
13th - 27th September 2009This report gives details of the birds seen during a two week's holiday in Sharm el Sheik, Egypt. We found the period very good for migrating birds.
We flew from Oslo, and stayed at the Marriott Renaissance. The hotel is situated at the southern edge of Sharm, near the lighthouse.
We used a hotell taxi to get around. It cost 200 Egyptian pounds for a round-trip to the water ponds northwest of Naama Bay. We visited the ponds two times from sunrise (6AM-10 AM).
The hotell garden were surprisingly good for spotting warblers, shrikes, bee-eaters, hoopoe and more.
